June TBR 2017

May was a great month in reading. Out of all the books that I posted on Instagram for my TBR, I ended up reading four books, plus an additional seven that was not on my TBR. That is a total of eleven books. Those books were…

  1. Ms. Marvel Vol. 4
  2. Ms. Marvel Vol. 5
  3. Hello Universe
  4. Morrigan’s Cross
  5. Dance of the Gods
  6. Valley of Silence
  7. A Night Divided
  8. Dance Upon the Air
  9. Heaven and Earth
  10. Milk and Honey
  11. The Upside of Unrequited – Though I did finish this book on the fourth of June, though most of it was read in May

Out of all the book, there were two that I loved. The Upside of Unrequited and Hello Universe were my favorite books. I will be doing reviews on both of those books later.

Moving forward. This month I wanted it to be a bit different. I wanted to finish a bunch of books that I started this year that I would really like to complete, as well as finishing my May TBR. However, life has been interesting and all the book that I have requested to be put on hold all became available at the same time. Some of those books I found out that I will not be able to renew. My library has that feature where you cannot renew really popular books. Here are the four books that I need to read by the end of this month.

  1. We are the ants by Shaun David Hutchinson
  2. One of us is Lying by Jaren M. McManus
  3. Geekerella by Ashley Poston
  4. The Circle by Dave Eggers

If I have time this month I would like to finish The Impossible Fortress and Twice Upon a Time.  That is if I have time. I am going on a little vacation and one of my books are due while I am on vacation. So I am hoping to finish that book before this weekend.

I am curious as to what books you are planning to read this month as well as what good books you have read last month. Let me know in the comments below. Until next time. Happy reading.

May Wrap-up and June TBR

Other than the fact that we are almost half way done with June, I will be doing a little wrap-up and a TBR . Let’s just pretend that it is the beginning of June. Okay? Okay…

May was a really good month, reading wise. I ended up reading a total of 8 books in the month of May. Most of these books I do have reviews  tht I have outlined, so I hope that I will posting them up soon. The books that I have read this month are…

  1. Buttons
  2. The Ghost of Spirit Bear
  3. Dance Upon the Air
  4. Heaven and Earth
  5. Face the Fire
  6. The One and Only Ivan
  7. Everyday Angel – New Beginnings
  8. Ruby Lee and Me

In the end, I was able to complete both the Feburary and May challenge. I have read a total of 1,964 pages, and I am happy that I was able to get all that reading done.

Now onto June. So the challenge that I grabed for this month is “A book you have been meaning to read”. Originally, I was planning on letting this be The Trials of Appolo by Rick Riordan, but I decided to change that plan. I would like to focus on reading the books that I have not finished. Technically, they are all books that I have been meaning to read. So, let’s get started with our list.

  1. Everland by Wendy Spinale – I am 20 % done with the book. It is very interesting and I would like to finish it. I just need the time and place to sit down and just read the book.
  2. Flunked by Jen Calonita – I am not sure if I will be able to finish this book since it is on my phone. I am not a huge fan of reading books on my phone. I just find the screen to small.
  3. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs – I am over the half way mark with this book.
  4. The Chimes by Charles Dickens – I am also almost done with this book, but I have to switch from audio to book. I enjoy that man’s reading and his cadeance, but I am getting tired with how slow it is.
  5. Uprooted by Naomi Novik -I stopped reading this book because of my reading slump. I only got half way through this book.
  6. The Circle Trilogy by Nora Roberts – I have already read these book, but I decided to not take my chances. I am still dealing with the residule effects of that reading slump and usually this reread helps clear any slumps.
    1. Morrigan’s Cross
    2. Dance of the Gods
    3. Valley of Silence
  7. The Trials of Appolo by Rick Riordan?  – I am not sure, let’s see how much reading I can get done in this month.
  8. I do need to read any of the children’s books that I have bought from the last month. I need to check them out before I read them aloud while I babysit. I need to make sure that they are kid friendly.

I do hope that you enjoyed this post. I know that is has been a bit late for it, but it is better late than never. I have just been busy helping people out and getting everything ready. I will be talking to you soon. Have a wonderful day. Happy reading!
