Day 3 Booktubeathon 2017

With all the extra time I had in reading, you would think that I got a lot of reading done. Sadly, I did not But I did get one book done and at least I did start an audio book for The Dark Prophecy this morning, so that is in the plus column.  In all, I finished Juniper Lemon’s Happiness Index and got about 90 pages into The Dark Prophecy.

So far I have completed three out of the eight challenges. I just finished reading the group book and I read a book with a person on the cover. So I am excited for slowly finishing these challenges and getting all my books read. If possible, I am hoping to get The Dark Prophecy finished by tomorrow.

I am not sure if that is going to work. I am losing an hour of reading, with the extra hour that is going into my camp, but I also decided to not participate in tomorrows challenge. I technical have a photo and an outfit that I could use for the challenge, but I do not want my identity known on my blog or Instagram account. So that might give me an extra hour. I am not sure. We will see how much reading I will complete in the day. I still want to post something crafty and fun for tomorrow on my Instagram account.

Though today’s challenge was a bit hard. We were to take a reflective image of our current read. I was happy with my work, but with all the other images that I saw for the challenge, I am not surprised that I lost. It was not as good as some of those other images. I do encourage you to check them out. Look it under the #btatreflect. I will place the image that I submitted down below.

But for now, I want to talk about my game plan for tomorrow. I am planning on immersing myself in the world of The Dark Prophecy. I do have the audio book, so I am planning on utilizing that audio book to help me get some more reading time. Hopefully, I will be able to get a few chapters done while I am getting ready for work. I am not sure about hearing the book and driving to work. Lately, I have been stuck on the same song for the past few days and I have not been getting any reading done in the car. My realistic goal is to get 3/4 of the way through the book. I only want 100 or so pages left to finish on Friday. If by some miracle I finish this book tomorrow, I do have The Girl Who Drank the Moon and Story Thieves. I might also take in 13 chairs. I am due for a short quick read. I am starting to feel that need for a quick pick me up.

So enough about me, I want to know about you. If you are participating, how is your adventuring going? Did you get a lot of books read? Have you enjoyed all the books that you have read so far? What challenges have you completed? Are you having fun?

I do hope that you are having fun and that you are enjoying all of your adventures. I will talk to you on Friday. Until then, happy reading!

Booktubeathon Day 3

I must say that it is hard to believe that we are about half way done with booktubeathon. I don’t know why, but somehow I feel like everything is alright and I will be able to get everything done. It does not help that I do have four books (two I have finished last night) done and only two challenges completed. However, that is quickly changing.

I am 60% finished with More Than This, with only 44 chapters left. Oh, My… This book is so good, I hate putting it down, but at the same time, I am starting not wanting to end it. Too many feels. In addition, I have also started The Hidden Oracle and I am 76 pages through a 361-page book. That is only 285 pages left. It did help to have Percy in the book, though. I am not sure how I would survive a 361-page book of a selfish “artistic” god. Though he is getting better. Both of those books do complete a challenge, the yellow book, and the favorite author challenge. So I am hoping to finish both of those by tomorrow.

Tomorrow I am hoping to finish More Than This, The Hidden Oracle, and final book in the Spiderwick Chronicles. We will see. I am also hoping to post all my reviews tomorrow.

It is that time of night where it is almost sunset. I would like to get as much reading as done possibly before I have to pick up my sister and her friend from college. I would like to know, how has your reading been? Are you participating in booktubeathon?

I will see you tomorrow. Happy reading?

Writing 101 Day 3 – One Word Prompt

I know that I am a bit behind. My schedule has changed drastically since the beginning of this week, and I have finally found some time to sit at a computer and type. For day three were were to select a word from a list that spoke to us in some ways. The words that we got to choose from were: Treasure, Regret, Home, Love, Uncertainty, and Secret.

The word I have chosen for this prompt is Uncertainty. I don’t know why, but the word spoke out to me in volumes. I wanted to write a poem using all the words, but for some reason, this word was in my head, and I was not able to get it out of my mind. I am hoping that if I write my thoughts on this word, I can finally move on and focus on other things.

It might just be that time in my life. I am 26 years old, and I am uncertain as to what the future will hold for me. Uncertain, as to what will happen the next week or even the next day. Uncertain about the things, times, events, places, and people in my life. I am at a crossroads, and I have been here for too long. Scared to move, uncertain of the secrets and the future regrets that might happen. I know it sounds stupid, but in my mind, it feels as though I cannot make a mistake. That fear as to what doors I could possibly close, and how they will affect me later on. In addition, to door closing, what doors will I open, and will it be good?

I know that this uncertainty is affecting me now. I am suffering from anxiety and just thinking about the word is bringing my anxiety levels up. It is bringing forth the fear that I will have for the next few months and the following year as the uncertainty of health care and bills loom over my head. It does not help that I am working three jobs and I barely make it month to month. As more uncertainty takes over my life, I long for and wish for the days in which it didn’t. I could care less if I end up back in elementary school, I miss the consistency and the confidence that I once had. Or to just crawl up into a ball and forget that the world doesn’t even exist.

At last, I cannot do either of those things. And it is the world of uncertainty that we must live in.  The uncertainty of who to vote and what will happen in the future with all my voting. The uncertainty of bills and medical insurance. the uncertainty of my schedule for the following week or even for the rest of this week. The uncertainty of what will happen next as I travel from one location to the next, wondering if I will be paid, if students will show up.

As I am here writing about my fears and uncertainty, I am texting a friend who also suffers from anxiety. She has recently just switched jobs and is getting use to and learning about a new school, staff, and students. It is good to see that everything is working out for her. She is happy, and calm, and thrilled about what the next day will bring her. The most recent text that she just sent me was “All things work out in life, given time.” It is fitting that she sent me this text, not knowing about what I am writing, or about my blog. But it calmed me down and gave me comfort. It helped me realized that in the end, no matter which path I choose, which door I decide to open or close, in the end, everything will all work out, and everything will be alright. I have my support team, that is all I need.

I do hope that everything is working out for you, and that your uncertainties are not upsetting and/or overwhelming you. You will find your adventures and your place in the world. I will talk to you soon. Happy reading!

Bout of Books – Wednesday Update

Bout of Books is very organized and has a template that we can use to keep track of our goals and reading progress throughout the week. Today, I am just going to post my plans for next week. Next week will be a bit tricky since I will be working both jobs. We are starting school next week. I am hoping that I will get some time to read as well as well as blogging.
