Reading Update – May 2016

I cannot believe that we are already half way done with this month. Where has the time gone? I know that I was looking forward to that three-day weekend at the end of May, but I am really wondering if I should just be worried about how fast this year seems to be going.

I just wanted to let you know where I am standing on with my reading. I can tell you that I finally feel like I am free of that reading slump. It just took a couple of good rereads to get me out. As of right now, I have finished both challenges. So let us begin.

I have completed three books so far. I have started a fourth, and I am hoping that I will be able to complete it sometime this week. Giving me a total of 973 pages. Let’s just say that I am dancing and celebrating right now. I feel like I have accomplished something right there.

Below is the list of books that I have planned on reading. The books that have a strike through are the books that I have completed.

  1. I would like to finish Scarlet by Marissa Mayers. I am only 100 pages away from the end. That is not even an hours reading for me. Even though I am enjoying the book, I don’t want it to end.
  2. I would also like to finish Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. I am listening to that book. I am a little over half-way done to completing it. About 3.5 – 4 hours left.
  3. The List by Siobhan Vivian
  4. Ghost of Spirit Bear by Ben Mikaelsen – Part of February’s Challenge. I have had this book on my shelf for several months with the intention of finishing this duology, but somehow never having the chance to finish it.
  5. The Three Sister’s Island Trilogy by Nora Roberts. I traditionally reread these books around this time of year, which will be competing May’s challenge. The title of the books are…
    1. Dance Upon the Air
    2. Heaven and Earth
    3. Face the Fire.

I do hope that the rest of the month will continue to be a good reading month just like the first half. I hope that all your reading plans are working out for you. Until next time. Happy reading!
