This month’s theme was Dystopia. I must say that this months box was one of the best boxes that I have received in a while. Other than the book, I enjoyed most of the items that were inside. So let’s begin.
The first item that I received was the card. For spoiler purposes, I will not post the back of the card right away, but I will post the front. I really did enjoy the image and I felt that it played into the theme very well. Defiantly a mix between Fahrenheit 456 and a few other dystopian novels.
After that, the next item that I grabbed was a coaster from Evie Bookish. She is just a blogger with a few of her friends.
This coaster, however, is perfect! Not only do I need one for my room when I have water or cold drinks on the desk, but I love the design. It is absolutely gorgeous. I hate to tell you that I out of habit, I accidently used my poor sticky notes for 30 minutes when I had a cold drink in the room. Though I am getting used to using it now.
However, as a side note, even though the picture does not show it, my coaster was a little puffy. After the first use, it lost its puff. Is that normal? For those of you who have an Owlcrate, did you discover that after using the coaster? My coaster is still usable and it is still beautiful, I just found it weird that it lost its puff.
Following that, was an item from the Geeky Cauldron. I was really stoked when I heard that there was another box when them participating in it. So far I have not been disappointed in it. It did not disappoint me yet. This month we got a Mocking Jay bracelet. I have worn it, and I can say that it is quite comfortable, however, I need to tighten some of the links in the chain. I had to do an impromptu fix while I was wearing it. Other than that, it is perfect and it goes with the arrow necklace, from Crystal Compas, that I received in October. In addition to the bracelet, I also got a 10% discount code. Just type in OWLCRATE to receive the 10%.
The next item I am not sure what I am really going to do with. It is a little notebook based off of George Orwell 1984. The notebook was interesting and I will find a use for it soon, but it is just something you have to check out. I have rarely seen notebooks with a table of contents, and a folder on the inside. In addition, the notebook is just the size of my hand, maybe slightly bigger. Though I did love the quote in the back. When and if I read 1984, I might get the reference of the notebook.
The next item I got was a Katniss magnet. I am not sure what I am going to do with it since I do not own a fridge or anything magnetic to put it on, but I do love the artwork. This wonderful little piece came from HalfBoodPrints. It also came, with a coupon code for 30% off. Just type in THANKSYOU30 to get it.
Before we move on, can I just mention that greatness of that title? I love it so much. It reminds me of Half-Blood Prince from Harry Potter.
Moving on. The next item I received was a vinyl decal from Shailey Ann Design. The design is from the Maze Runner. Again, this is another book that I have not read yet, but it sounds interesting. This was also one of the other items that I was not so big on. I really do not put stickers on anything. Though, the decal does look cool. What I did love was the instructions that were provided as well as a link and a 20% off future purchases. Just use the code OWLCRATE. I will admit that I have checked out her Esty store. I might actually break down and buy something. I am really liking a few of her items.
Second to the last item that I got from the box was a mini poster from The Star-Touched Queen. This was not in the letter/ postcard that I received from Owlcrate, however, it was in my box. I really liked the colors of this poster and was trying to figure out how to post it on my wall without ruining the book. I guess it is an add/ sponsor. If you ignore the back (the advertising), and just focus on the quote and picture, it is a great mini-poster. I will post the back in case you want to check out what it is all about.
Finally, the last item was the book with its wonderful letter and a mini poster.I will admit that I have never heard of this book, but after reading the synopsis, I am stoked and I cannot wait to read it. The book we received was Flawed by Cecelia Ahern. The story is about a young woman’s choice in a society where everything has to be perfect. This book does sound awesome, and I am stoked to be reading this book.
I do hope that you enjoyed this month’s Owlcrate unboxing. If you are interested you can order your own Owlcrate with the link that I provide you.
